1. What is Pictag?
Pictag is a focused image-metadata workflow for stock contributors and image sellers. Its core workflow is Upload → Tag → Review → Export → Distribute.
2. What can a free account do?
Free accounts use Manual Tagging only. You can apply one title, description and keyword set to batches of up to 2,000 JPEG or PNG images and prepare the metadata for export without using Pictag Credits.
3. What does Smart AI Tagging do?
Smart AI Tagging analyses each selected image separately and creates a unique title, description and relevant keyword set for that image. Smart AI Tagging requires purchased Pictag Credits.
4. How many images can I process in one batch?
Pictag is designed for batches of up to 2,000 selected images. Manual Tagging can apply shared metadata to the whole batch. Smart AI Tagging processes images individually according to the credits available on the account.
5. Does Pictag require a subscription?
No. Pictag uses one-time prepaid credit packs. Credits do not expire.
6. Which credit packs are available?
Starter costs €5 for 500 credits. Studio costs €45 for 10,000 credits. One credit corresponds to one image analysed with Smart AI Tagging.
7. Does buying credits remove free Manual Tagging?
No. Manual Tagging remains free. Purchasing credits simply unlocks Smart AI Tagging for the number of images covered by the account balance.
8. What happens if a paid AI request fails?
Failed paid Smart Tagging requests should return the reserved credits so users are not charged for an analysis that did not complete successfully.
9. Can I edit metadata before exporting?
Yes. The workflow is designed around reviewing and editing titles, descriptions and keywords before creating the final export.
10. Which exports does Pictag support?
Pictag supports a generic CSV export and marketplace-oriented presets for Adobe Stock and Shutterstock. Additional presets can be added after their current submission fields are mapped and tested.
11. Does Pictag distribute files directly to marketplaces?
Pictag is being built toward a marketplace distribution workflow. Direct distribution will only be enabled for marketplaces whose forms, metadata requirements and submission rules have been implemented and tested. Until then, Pictag prepares export files for the user to submit.
12. Does Pictag guarantee marketplace acceptance?
No. Pictag helps prepare metadata and exports, but each marketplace applies its own content, quality, legal and metadata rules. Final acceptance decisions belong to the marketplace.
13. Does Pictag permanently store my uploaded images?
Pictag is designed as a preparation workflow rather than permanent image storage. Manual Tagging is intended to work with the selected files in the browser; Smart AI Tagging sends the image data required for the requested analysis to the configured AI service.
14. Which image formats can I use?
The current tagging workflow is designed for JPEG/JPG and PNG images, subject to the limits shown in the app.
